World Photography Day 2021: Iconic photos by legendary photographer Raghu Rai
- Padmashree Awardee, revered photographer and photojournalist Raghu Rai was born in December of 1942. A civil engineer by profession, he started photographing at the age of 23. Starting his career as a chief photographer for The Statesman, he went on to work with and have his work published in many well-known publications including Sunday, India Today, Time, Life, GEO, Vogue, Die Welt, Marie Claire, The New York Times, Le Figaro, Le Monde, among many others. In 1992, he was awarded the Photographer of the Year Award for his story in the National Geographic titles, Human Management of Wildlife in India, in the United States. The now 78-year-old photographer lives in his Delhi home and is writing his 57th book as per his website.
