Watch Twinjabi Channel ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ in Hedonistic ‘I Just Want Money’ Video
Pop and hip-hop duo Twinjabi parody cult T.V. shows like Money Heist, Squid Game and movies like The Wolf of Wall Street in their latest music video “I Just Want Money.”
To add to the incredulous storyline of the video, it opens with a news bulletin that “aliens have taken all our money.” Somewhere along the line, Twinjabi seem to save the world and end up “buying the metaverse” for $44 billion in a high-octane take on a pivotal scene from The Wolf Of Wall Street.
In the run-up to releasing the song in August, brothers Neil and Kush Nijhawan announced on their Instagram that “Twinjabi has decided to use all its Bitcoin, Silicon Valley cash & Squid Game prize money to buy the Metaverse.” The anthemic nature of the song gets flipped from easygoing pop to trap-informed hip-hop in a beat switch as the duo go into full self-indulgent mode. In a statement, Twinjabi describe the song as “perfect and so relevant for the times we are living in.”
“I Just Want Money” is Twinjabi’s second single this year, following their affable song “A Mi Tambien,” in which the duo turn on the charm with Hindi and English lyrics, plus a hint of Spanish to try their hand at a Latin pop-influenced love song.
