An exhibition of historical photos related to the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad and its merging with India in September 1948 was inaugurated on Wednesday in Secunderabad. Union culture minister G Kishan Reddy shared a poster of the event on Twitter and invited people to visit the four-day-long exhibition to learn more about the history of the erstwhile state and its annexation under military intervention ‘Operation Polo.’ The event was inaugurated by governor Tamilisai Soundararajan ahead of the Centre’s plans to commemorate year-long celebrations to mark 75 years of ‘Hyderabad State Liberation’ starting September 17.
